A VTL member recently finished this wall planter using reclaimed wood and tools from the VTL. Nice one!
One of our members just finished this body surfing hand plane! It’s made of reclaimed cedar with a hand-sewn leather strap. All made with VTL tools. So good!
Intro to Tools: Folding Beach Chair
Sunday, July 17th
10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm
Our next Intro to Tools workshop will teach participants how to build their very own folding beach chair (similar to pictured).
Intro to Tools is for absolute beginners to woodworking. We assume you’ve never touched any of the tools before. You’ll learn how to use a tablesaw, chop saw, drill and other standard power tools.
As per usual, our main focus will be on the safe use of tools.
We’ll be hosting 2 separate workshops on the same day, one from 10am-12pm, and another from 2pm-4pm. Please indicate which workshop you will be participating in.
$20 for members
$25 for non-members
To register, email manager[@]vancouvertoollibrary.com
Hey VTL members! Come hang out, have a beer on us, and let’s talk about your Vancouver Tool Library. We want to hear your thoughts on the VTL and its future. At the same time, we’ll give you updates on what we’ve been up to and nominate a couple new Board members.
Beer, snacks and refreshments will be provided!
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
Help us maintain our tools! The Tool Committee meets once per month to work on our tool inventory. This means sharpening blades, replacing parts, diagnosing problems, cleaning tools, applying grease where grease is needed, etc.
No experience is necessary, but experience is welcome.
