The Bike Mechanics 101 Workshop is designed to familiarize new rider/mechanics with the components of their bike, their function, simple field adjustments, what is safe, and when repairs are needed.

GOALS:

By the end of the course, participants will know how to inspect the components of their bike, how they function, how to do simple adjustments, perform maintenance, diagnose issues and know when major repairs are needed.

Students will learn:

  1. ABC – Quick Check (a Pre-Trip Safety Check)
  2. A more in depth Safety Check (things to support the quick abc safety check).
  3. Tools, Adjustments, Repairs and Replacements…HANDS ON.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014; 11:00am to 1:30pm

WHERE: Vancouver Tool Library, 3448 Commercial St.
(Commercial St. at Victoria Drive, across from Porter St.)

PRICE: $15 for members $25 for non members.
