Have you been to the VTL in the last few weeks? If so, you’ll have seen the new tidy space and signage showing where things go. This shop organization was the hard work of Lucas, our Inventory Specialist. Lucas was tasked in the fall with organizing our tools and conducting a full inventory of all our power tools. He inspected thousands of tools, disposed of many that had surpassed their lifespan and found a place for everything left. Now every tool has a home, clutter is a thing of the past, and there are clear signs throughout the shop showing where various tools should be stored. Lucas also updated the power tool inventory listed on our website to match what’s in stock, so now you can be confident that if a power tool is shown as available on the website, we’ve actually got it to loan out. (It’s worth mentioning that our hand tool inventory online is not as precise at the moment, mostly due to sheer volume of each tool type. So, if you have any questions about tool availability, don’t hesitate to call during shop hours to ask our volunteers to confirm in real time.)
