Heat up the Holidays: DIY tent-safe heaters workshop

On Sunday, December 14, volunteers from the VTL and Distro Disco put on a workshop to build DIY tent-safe heaters for Distro Disco to redistribute to our unhoused neighbours.

The heater is designed to burn alcohol safely in a confined space to provide a steady source of heat in the cold months. Credit to Mutual Aid Disaster Relief for the design.

Seven folks showed up to learn and build together, and we made great progress on the first batch of heaters and will finish at the end of December. Check out these photos from the workshop, including the finished product:
