Every day at the VTL us volunteers talk to people who are keen to tell us about what’s going on in their lives and communities, and the projects they’ve been working on to make them better. We get the privilege of meeting all of you as you come in and borrow tools, and we are always excited to get behind you and to witness your beautiful projects. In the spirit of supporting makers in making community, and with a successful first year of the program under our toolbelts, VTL is launching the Build it Better grant program V.02.
Build it Better will provide 2 grants of up to $400 each for participants to lead a community project. So pitch us a project! We are especially looking to support projects that will enrich the community. We are thinking of things like community benches, lending libraries,pantries, but really we can’t wait to hear about your creative ideas.
Lead a community project
V.01 was hands off on our end, and we were simply stoked to see the finished projects. This year we want to be there, alongside you, and provide an opportunity for you all to meet each other. We will choose 1-2 projects and support you in hosting a community build day, where members/ neighbours/ pals will come together to share skills and knowledge to make the project a reality.
Community build days will take place in November.
